What are the requirements to become an online Languages teacher?

Must be at least 18 years old
Basic computer literacy
Has good Languages proficiency
Has patience & passion for teaching

Skype and e-mail accounts
Built-in or external web camera
Quiet teaching environment

Do I need to have any previous teaching experience?
No, previous teaching experience is not essential but preferred

What are your computer requirements?
You can use any laptop/PC, as long as it can carry out Skype/Wechat voice and video calls.

Can undergraduate students apply?
Yes, students who are 18 years old and above are welcome to apply. An educational degree is not required as long as the applicant can teach Languages effectively.

Do I need to know a foreign language?
Knowing a foreign language is not a requirement.

Do I need to get interviewed?
No,interview is not required.We will decide on your application form and the self-introduction video you submitted.

What is the teaching schedule?
You can choose to teach anytime that suits you and your students any day of the week, i.e. from Mondays to Sundays.
Are teaching materials provided?
We provide a wide selection of materials that you can choose from. You can also upload your own teaching materials to our database.

How do I get students?
Students can view each tutors’s profile and select who to book based on it.

How do I deliver lessons?
All lessons are delivered via Skype or Wechat hence, tutors need to learn how to use these tools.

BEFORE THE LESSON
1. Arrange your schedule. Log into your account to access lesson slots.
2. Sessions booked by students. Students can choose their teachers based on teacher profiles.
3. Confirm your schedule at least 15 minutes before each lesson starts.
4. Review your students’ lesson preferences .You can view students’ profiles.

DURING THE LESSON
5. Log into Skype or Webchat. Ensure that your Skype or Webchat profile indicates that you are an online Languages teacher.
6. Add your students to Skype or Webchat.
7. Send your students a message introducing yourself as their teacher.
8. Contact your students on time.
9. Conduct the classes with your students. Conduct lessons with materials preferred by your students.
10. Provide feedback to your students.
11. End lesson professionally and on time.

How long is the usual lesson?
One lesson takes 25 minutes.

Is there a required minimum number of hours to teach?
There are no minimum teaching hours required. You can manage your schedule to suit your needs.

How do I earn?
Your fee is calculated by multiplying the number of booked lessons you have completed in a month by the rate per lesson.

How and when do I get paid?
The fee is paid every 15th of the month via PayPal

Where is your company located?
The company is located in Yokohama, Japan.

Regulations for Tutor
About Register
1When registering as formal Languages Tutor, All tutor should submit their contact number including Skype、WeChat and cell phone numbers.
2After registered as formal Languages Tutor, All tutor should add our Administration Account to their Skype contact list within one week or your employment will be canceled.
About Lesson
Before the lesson
1. Arrange your schedule. Log into your account to access lesson slots.
2. Confirm your schedule and review your student’ s lesson preferences at least 60 minutes before each lesson starts.
3. Add your student’s Skype or Wechat contact number into your contact list at least 10 minutes before each lesson starts.
4. If you need to cancel any lessons scheduled please inform our staff at least 60 mins before the lesson is due to start.
Cancellations are expected to be infrequent in order to uphold the reputation of Hi Teacher.
During the lesson
1. Tutor should follow the lesson schedule Strictly.
2. If the internet interrupted during the lesson, you should inform our staff.
3. Tutor should not do anything unconcerned with the lesson or other impropriate things during the lesson. If you did, you will be fined according to the circumstances or your employment will be cancelled.
After the lesson
1. Tutor should inform our staff when the lesson was finished.
2. Tutor should send the screen capture of the lesson‘s beginning and end to our staff or you will be considered as absent from the lesson.
